Tosha’s diverse career has touched virtually every business sector in Ottawa–for profit, not-for-profit, charitable organizations and academia. In her first year of leadership, the RA’s performance improved by over one million dollars to the bottom line. Tosha led an ambitious re-imagining of its facilities and strategic direction of this “House of Sport.” Throughout her career, she has played a mentorship role for women in business and has championed gender-related issues in the workplace.

In 2014 the Recreation Association of the Public Service of Canada (RA) was at a crossroads due to a decline in its traditional business and an unhappy lender. Its new CEO had the task of planning a major overhaul of the RA business operations to reverse the course and identify ways to generate long-term, future-proofed revenue sources. This session will share the unique case study of this 75-year-old organization that did not adapt with market pressures and demands yet, in the end, was able to implement sound business acumen to future proof itself.
